Max Healthcare started in 2000 and within a short period since its inception, Max Hospitals has become a leading health service provider with its strong presence in Delhi NCR. The institute operates 14 centres in Delhi, NCR and neighbouring Punjab region, providing health care services in more than 30 disciplines and operating with 2000 beds capacity. The vision is to increase the beds to 5000 by 2020. The company provides patient services including nuclear medicine and cardiac imaging, labs, scans, interventional cardiology, cardiac pacing and electrophysiology, neurosciences, orthopedics, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, cancer care, kidney transplant, bone marrow transplant, maternity services, diagnostic services, pediatric ophthalmology, neurophthalmology, internal medicine, general surgery, urology, nephrology, gastroenterology, mental health and behavioral sciences, rehabilitative services, and pulmonology.

Dr. Kohli joined Max Super Specialty Hospital, Shalimar Bagh- a 200 bedded hospital in November’ 2014 as Vice President- Operations. Within the first year of his association, he could achieve an overall growth of 41% (Revenue) & 150% (EBITDA).

He has been able to deliver various Business Models & Projects with focus on Reducing Discharge Time, Increasing IP Conversions, Reducing turnaround time of TPA, Reduce medical errors and much more which have received much appreciation & replicated at other units.

Being the Business Head, his focus has always been on increased market penetration & streamlining business & processes to ensure maximum profitability. Within his 2 years with Max he has been able to introduce a number of marketing campaigns & CME’s within the vicinity & adjoining belts.

Under his excellence, the hospital could deliver the 1st Cadaveric Transplant, this being the first in pan max.

To create a customer centric hospital, Dr. Kohli has been successful in being a change agent and bring upon changes in all areas of work as & when required. He conducted cross functional training & audits in order to improve functions & processes.

His Hi-tech approach & willingness to be technically forward helped him introduce ERP model in the system wherein all transactions have been made online & well documented. Yet another initiative has been launch of self appraisal, wherein employees can do a self appraisal by rating themselves on the online portal. Appraisals will be directly linked to the rating.

Dr. Kohli added many more super specialties to the unit, promoted outstation OPD’s & International outreach to increase revenues.

From an organization that was growing by 18%, grew at 41% under Dr. Kohli’s leadership.

Seeing his contribution & dedication towards increasing profitability , Dr. Kohli got promoted as the Sr. VP & Zonal Head- Operations NCR3. In his new role he is now heading Shalimar Bagh & Pitampura Branch

Medanta. The Medicity, Gurgaon since March 2010 till Oct 2014 as Medical Superintendent with additional responsibility of Quality, IT and Program Management of HIS & SAP Implementation.

Medanta – The Medicity is one of India’s largest and most prestigious multi-super specialty medical institutes. Spread across 43 acres in Gurgaon NCR and houses 1,250 beds and over 350 critical care beds, with 45 operation theatres, the hospital was founded in 2009 by renowned cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Naresh Trehan and is located in Gurgaon, which is part of the National Capital Region. Primarily known as an institute specializing in cardiology, presently Medanta has 32 institutions, departments and division that cater to over 20 specialities. Adhering to NABH standards, the hospital is as of 2013 accredited by ISQua (International Society for Quality in Healthcare), NABL, and JCI.

A major breakthrough came when he joined India’s leading hospital “Medanta” in the year 2010 where he as appointed as a Medical Superintendent and Head- IT. At Medanta he was instrumental in operationalising 1250 beds. He led the team of floor doctors, administrators, nurses, technicians and paramedics for creating excellent patient services. He offered training to doctors, nurses and ward secretaries on handling patient related queries for better patient experience. He conducted audits of operational parameters and took corrective and preventive actions to improve services.

Being the IT Head, Dr. Kohli was instrumental in starting patient centric indenting system across the hospital which helped in streamlining the pharmacy of the hospital and billing. He upgraded manual billing process to an electronic process by activation Hospital Information System and integrated the process built during SAP – HIS implementation with hospital operations like front desk, Billing, ward Administration, Nursing, Pharmacy & Finance. He designed Management Information System for the top management and integrated with Business Intelligence Module. His vision made Medanta a Hi-Tech Hospital and the processes formulated and initiated by him made it highly advanced.

Dr. Kohli was involved in designing Hospital Policies. He was also a part of Core Quality Team, where NABH Accreditation was awarded in 2 years & JCI Preparation was done in a span of 3 years. Dr. Kohli conducted Quality Audits, Review policies, conduct root cause analysis and finally corrective & preventive action. He led to digitization of quality indicators like key performance indicators etc. He was instrumental in designing of Hospitals Intranet to publish quality manual, policies, training material, audit reports & surveys.

Dr. A S kohli had a breakthrough in his career when he joined B L Kapur Memorial Hospital, Delhi in the year 2007 as Additional Medical Superintendent & Head Marketing. He could take over the hospital building, previously held by 22 contractors. He took special emphasis on designing the hospital as per NABH guidelines and was instrumental in setting up Cath Lab, Gamma Camera, Blood Bank, Operation theatres, Linear Accelerator etc. He holds the credit of getting 31 TPA’s, 15 Corporates and 14 PSU’s on the panel hospital in a short duration of 8 months. He had put strong emphasis on setting up of HIS. Dr. Kohli appointed more than 240 doctors at the Hospital and initiated many more specialties during his tenure of 3 years.

Indian Spinal Injuries Center, Delhi since July 2000 till Oct 2006 as Additional Medical Superintendent

He joined Indian Spinal Surgeries Center, Delhi in the year 2000, where he worked for 4 years as Deputy Medical Superintendent (Marketing) and was promoted as Additional Medical Superintendent and worked for next 2 years at that designation. Dr. Kohli was pivotal in getting new wards, new physiotherapy wing, Operation Theatres and Cardiac ICU functional. His dedication and proactiveness could raise the annual business by 30 %. He added new consultants and specialties to the hospital and made it a huge success.

Dr. Kohli launched many marketing campaigns & worked on plans to increase the Brand Value & Presence through his marketing strategies.

Oct’98 – Jun’2000 with Jaipur Golden Hospital, Delhi as Deputy Medical Superintendent

Dr. A S Kohli joined Jaipur Golden Hospital, Delhi where he was designated as Deputy Medical Superintendent. At Jaipur Golden Hospital Dr. Kohli worked towards setting up the new building for the hospital which was operational in a period of 6 months. Dr. Kohli was successful in setting up the building in terms of services, Air- Conditioning, Finishing, Planning and purchasing equipment and Manpower. Dr. Kohli served the hospital for 2 years.

Sep 92 to Sep 98 with S.N. Memorial Hospital as Chief Administrator

He started his career with S N Memorial Hospital as Chief Administrator, where he offered his services for 6 years. his work and dedication led to development of 7 small nursing homes with 12 – 14 beds each, which got many accolades.

These small nursing homes, which were opened in the outskirts of Delhi were run with the prime objective of providing medical/nursing care to the underprivileged, to the ones who have less access to healthcare.
